Gift of Sight Celebration
Honoring National Eye Donor Awareness Month
Since 2009, Southern Eye Bank has hosted the Gift of Sight Celebration each March.
Donor families, recipients, and surgeons are invited to participate in this special event that honors the legacies of Eye Donors and celebrates the Gift of Sight.
A butterfly release is held at the closing of each celebration as a symbolic representation of new life.
More than 500 people attend the Gift of Sight Celebration each year.

2023 Gift of Sight Celebration
Our Gift of Sight Celebration has traditionally been held in March during Eye Donation Month. The Eye Bank Association of America has recently moved Eye Donation Month to November. Following in their footsteps, SEB has now moved the Gift of Sight celebration to November 4, 2023, at the Children’s Museum in New Orleans. This will allow us to participate in the national recognition of eye donor heroes and their families. We look forward to seeing you all there!
